God damn it is so much more fun than using the right thumbstick as a terrible analogue for a mouse!

The article does ask a good question on the sort of conundrum that could become an identity crisis thst fire emblem has rode itself into with the steady inclusion of social aspects in their games ever since Awakening.

Personally I would be in favor of keeping the model they developed in 3 houses while refining it further with the game mechanics they developed in engage. I'd also like to keep the whole marriage and matchmaker aspect that we saw in awakening and fates out unless they figure out how to tastefully weave it into the storyline.

And while it would take too much gamedev time to implement it, it would be interesting to whether or not its possible to blend and synergize the fire emblem strategy game aspect with some of the musou aspects they've been lately dabbling in. I'm thinking akin to how the Total War series handles army battles but making the choices of how to play each battle as being either classic turn-based tactical mode or going full musou hack'n'slash nonsense as options for gameplay.

I found it funny that I've been tinkering with mods and settings, unsuccessfully trying to get the game to run at all on Windows, but then it started up right away on Epic Games Store through Lutris. Now I just gotta figure out how to cap the frame rate. e: found an fps limiter on nexus mods, now everything works perfectly!

Previously I had a similar experience where Far Cry 1 wouldn't run on any Windows newer than XP, but worked perfectly on Linux.

Very clever puzzle game. Combines Sokoban-like block pushing with predicate logic. So for example, if you create a rule like "Walls is you", you now control the walls, or you can undo an existing "Walls is stop"-rule and the walls are now non-colliding. The rules themselves are created/destroyed by pushing three blocks together: object IS property.

I just met this character, why is this a dialogue option

and they made sure that the footage looked just as blurry and low res as the actual game running on a PS2 to make it fit seamlessly

That is until you play the game 20 years later on an emulator and you go from lovely upscaled gameplay to sub-DVD quality videos with tons of in-built aliasing

spoilerFor a non-emulator example, fire up the DMC HD Collection and check out most of the cutscenes in DMC3, they look like absolute ass next to the few cutscenes that weren't pre-recorded

With the trust system in XI you can mana burn for days on mobs and not really have to worry about aggro since your NPCs melt them with skillchains.
