Loading up my Retroid with a few. I found a Deadpool NES game that actually is super cool, a Halloween Kirby game, Shovel Knight and Celeste ported to older consoles, stuff like that.

What are your favorites? I usually go for action/platforming/metroidvanias, and stray away from turn based RPGs. Only catch here is the hack has to be PS2 era or earlier.

I'm super excited about this one. Highly recommend the first one to anyone who likes Disco Elysium, science fiction, or heavily narrative based games.

Magic the gathering usually requires you to pay money to get pieces of cards to play with IRL, but we don't have that restriction playing digitally.
I usually play on Tabletop Simulator, but there's also the free and less computer demanding Cockatrice.

For newcomers to the game: Magic the gathering is a fairly complicated game, but you can learn it incrementally, learning new mechanics as you get more involved in it. I'd be happy to teach beginners. When you begin really understanding it, it only gets more and more fun. It's also a social game, meaning there's modes of play where you don't have to try hard, and you can play for fun without playing to win.

If you're interested in playing, leave a comment or send me a DM and if we get enough people (a regular game takes 3-4 players) I'll try to organise a game. Note down your timezone as well in your message if you're comfortable sharing that.

An mmorpg from 2003 that's based on the games of the same name by Koei. It's still going strong today and was re-released for the ps4. It's a turn based mmorpg which is neat, you don't see those very often as most mmos tend to be real time.

I always thought the Splatoon community was relatively better when it comes to marginalized people but even it’s not immune to the freeze-gamer mindset

Yes, there is a newGRF graphics mod that allows you to place giant cats all over the map

You have this level that takes place on a mountain, and the devs wanted to have a spot where you could see the gloomy landscape below with more mountains silhouetted in the distance... except this was the PS2 so it's just two jpegs, one for the sky so you can get some parallax and a curved panoramic one for the landscape. It still looks decent enough shrug-outta-hecks

This era was interesting since you could have pretty detailed character models and environments but still had to use fake backdrops and other tricks for larger environments. Makes you feel like you're on an old movie set

Not like Dungeon Keeper but like you're trying to build a magical self sustaining dungeon ecosystem

Ultima Online which is 1,000 times better than any poo poo garbo Meta puts out.

holy shit I'm literally so fucking excited right now. I know I've made 3 dragon age posts in 3 days but I can't help it. I'VE BEEN WAITING 10 YEARS. I was in high school when inquisition came out. High school!

I'm a little bit concerned about only having 3 abilities for Rook (protagonist) and 3 for each companion. However, if its balanced well enough I actually use all the abilities I'll be pretty ok with it. Companion control was disabled for the preview.

I was a little disappointed in the Varric/Solas dialogue at the end. It wasn't bad but it felt like a missed opportunity. Varric should know by now that Solas has accepted the consequences of tearing down the veil. Talking about why this world is worth saving seems like a better line. The other dialogue seemed good. I liked rook's voice actor, I hope the voice actress is as good. Its confirmed that there will be 4 voice actors, male and female, with british and american accents.

But the visuals, holy shit. I understand now why all the tevinters look down their noses at southerners. That city was incredible! And Arlathan Forest looks fantastic too! The demon redesign is so fucking cool! I love how differently the rage and pride demons, as well as the wraiths, are animated.

Confirmed offline single player, no ea account linking, no microtransactions
