Greece remains on high wildfire alert amid an ongoing heatwave. A large fire south of Athens forced evacuations near the Temple of Poseidon, damaging homes and spreading smoke. France's national weather agency placed Paris and 15 other departments on its highest weather alert for Tuesday with temperatures of up to 41 degrees Celsius predicted as a record heatwave grips Europe. Paris and the 15 other departments would move up to the red alert level, a warning last issued in August 2023, due to the severity of temperatures, Meteo France said.
