I am coming to your town for nascar (sorry if you are anti the event) and am wondering if there is anything Chicago specific I should know? Places to avoid or must do things? I definitely want a deep dish pizza and a Chicago dog.

Thanks for any insight, appreciate it.

Didn't get to do as much as I hoped this year, but at least going to the parade tomorrow and going to see Empire Strips Back which I expect to be a blast

Want a protected bike lane on MKE between Western and North? Meeting on Monday 6pm at the Wicker Park-Bucktown Library with Ward 32.

Let’s get this done.

It's going to be 77 and sunny.

Are you a sucker that has to go to work? Supporting black businesses? Plan on hitting the lakefront trail? Share w/ the class!

I'm definitely going for a bike ride but nothing planned outside of that 🤔

You'd think a street as busy as Clark is, the #22 would be a flagship bus line. But every time this week I've clocked out at rush hour, the nearest southbound bus is 20-30 minutes away. Legit faster to just walk to Metra and wait for it. Why does this particular bus suffer so much, when some nearby lines operate fairly well?

See a lot of people floating in from Reddit. Welcome!

Make use of the space and try to keep things civil and at least related to Chicago. If you liked the vibe of /r/Chicago, feel free to emulate that here as well, and please leave feedback so we can make this place useful and welcoming to everyone!

WBEZ putting the work in so we don't have to.

As an east coast boy, slice joints are a way of life. I'm excited to try some of these spots out over the Summer (probably via bike because driving in this city is a nightmare. Could be a good group ride idea!?)

Glad to see one of my favorite spots right now getting some much deserved attention: Pizza Friendly Pizza in the UK next to The Empty Bottle. I love a good Sicilian slice.

Does anyone else have gnats still on their windows screen, months after the initial wave of them? These midges are everywhere, and my apartment complex keeps telling me they will be gone in a couple weeks, every couple of weeks!

From the article:

Results of the latest parking meter audit by accounting giant KPMG shows meter revenues reached a record $140.4 million last year, up from $136.2 million in 2021 and $91.6 million during the stay-at-home shutdown of 2020...
...With 60 years left on the 75-year lease, Chicago Parking Meters LLC now has recouped its entire $1.16 billion investment and $530 million more.

I'm happy the station is where it is.
