I only read the NBA posts, so I've been seeing it lead to escalations in fights between people who think that Minnesota Timberwolves and Indiana Pacers fans are reaching new levels of depravity. But a search shows similar activity in other major subreddits, and everyone seems to think that their controversial and brave posts about Drake or Eurovision or are putting targets on their backs.
