What if the Pac-12 and Mountain West changed the way college conferences operate by borrowing an idea from European soccer leagues?

Due to "flagrant unsportsmanlike actions in the aftermath of the Florida at Tennessee football game":

Offensive lineman Damieon George, Jr., offensive lineman Micah Mazzccua and tight end Dante Zanders of Florida will be suspended for the first half of the Gators' game with Charlotte on Saturday in Gainesville. Defensive lineman Omarr Norman-Lott of Tennessee will be suspended for the first half of the Volunteers' game with UTSA on Saturday in Knoxville.

2023 Week 3 Game Recap (fanaticus.social)
submitted 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) by Manibusan@fanaticus.social to c/cfb@fanaticus.social

To make it easier to keep up with each week's games, I want to try and post a weekly recap thread on Sundays. My main goal for this was to help those who may not have watched every game (looking at myself here) to make sure they fill out the weekly /c/CFB poll with accurate game results. I will highlight ranked teams who lost their games to make it easier to see at a glance before filling out the poll. FCS opponents will be italicized.

This week we had three ranked teams drop their games: ^11^Tennessee, ^16^Kansas State, and ^24^Arkansas. All of these teams were favored but couldn't manage to win in the end. We had several ranked teams surprisingly struggle at some point during their games this week, including all of the Top 4 teams, ^10^Alabama, and ^21^Colorado.

Please let me know what other info you might want to see or if you think that this weekly thread will not be helpful.

Sorry I'm a bit late, took me a while to navigate the back alleys I woke up in after Saturday. Big week this week, let's show those ap voters what's what.

'60 Minutes' made a rare decision to interview Coach Prime twice in a single season of the oldest and most-watched newsmagazine on TV.

I continue being torn between appreciating that Deion strips much of the traditional BS out of college football and being annoyed that he then spackles on his own personal layer of different BS.

You may have noticed Portland State get bodied by Oregon in week 1, and with the loss last week to Wyoming had a -88 scoring margin. In one game, that margin swings to +3 scoring.

FWIW, "North American University" is a NAIA school (and gives off strong Bishop Sycamore vibes). I didn't even know FCS schools were allowed to play that level of competition.

"The first thing I heard is that he would be out for a few weeks," Sanders said in his postgame press conference. "I heard that for sure. But we will do what we must to take care of him. I know Travis probably will want to be out for two weeks. But we got to make sure he is OK. His health is more important than this game."
