Kansas offensive lineman Joseph Krause was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with "aggravated criminal threat; cause terror, evacuation or disruption," according to documents obtained by Shreyas Laddha of the Kansas City Star. Krause's arrest came hours after an apparent bomb threat was called into the Kansas football facilities.

Kansas athletics and local police declined to confirm that Krause was arrested in connection with the threat against the athletic facilities. The buildings were fully evacuated as law enforcement swept the area. Krause was booked into Douglas County Jail at 4:35 p.m. CT on Monday.

"Out of an abundance of caution, the Anderson Family Football Complex, Beatty Family Pavilion and David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium were evacuated and checked by law enforcement officers," University of Kansas police chief Damon Tucker told the Kansas City Star. "No devices were found, and police issued an all-clear at approximately 8:01 p.m.

"A subject was identified and arrested for making the threats. Law enforcement will not be releasing the name of the suspect at this time."

Krause was set to enter his fourth season with the program after walking on with the Jayhawks in the Class of 2020 from Shawnee Mission East (Kansas). He appeared in two games for Kansas as a true freshman but did not play each of the past two seasons.

“They’ll be there on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the college football season every single week for the first time. Just an opportunity to highlight football and grow football and all the teams in this conference.”

The first three weekends for the traveling shows are set as the ACC Network will be at Virginia Tech for Week 1, Florida State for Week 2 and Clemson for Week 3.

Virginia Tech will host Old Dominion Week 1, with Florida State hosting Southern Miss for Week 2. Clemson will host Florida Atlantic when the ACC Network is in town.

Along with creating a national law for NIL deals, the Pass Act would also require schools to provide health coverage for sports-related injuries for eight years after athletes finish their college eligibility. Athletic departments that generate more than $20 million annually would also be required to cover out-of-pocket medical costs for two years after an athlete's playing career. Athletic departments that generate more than $50 million annually would have to cover four years of out-of-pocket expenses.

The bill also seeks to create a certification process for agents that work with college athletes, a public database for anonymized NIL data, and a uniform contract for athletes to use in NIL, deals. Those items have been on the wish list of NCAA president Charlie Baker since he took on his new position in March.

Baker has said he wants Congress to create "consumer protections" for athletes as part of a new law.

The bill would make it illegal for states to pass individual laws that allow college athletes to receive a direct share of the billions of dollars of revenue they help to generate. This past year, a state representative in California proposed a bill that would allow for revenue sharing on teams that produce a significant amount of money for their schools. The bill was paused this summer.

The senators also suggest making it against federal law for a college athlete to transfer without sitting out a year until he or she has used at least three years of their college eligibility — except for extreme circumstances, such as the death of a family member. Coaches and athletic directors have complained during the past year that the combination of NIL money and a relatively new NCAA rule that allows players to transfer without penalty has made it difficult to maintain a steady roster.

Coaches and sports information directors picked Florida A&M to win the East Division in voting released Tuesday at SWAC media day in Birmingham, Alabama. Jackson State and then -coach Deion Sanders have been the dominant team the past two years. The favored status came a few days after Florida A&M had banned its players from the team's facilities after a rap video featuring some players was shot in the locker room without proper permission.

The looming suspension is tied to an NCAA recruiting investigation into Michigan in which Harbaugh faces a Level I violation, the most serious kind in the NCAA's purview, for not cooperating with NCAA enforcement. While the suspension and negotiations with the NCAA have not been finalized, the expectation is that Harbaugh would miss the first four games of Michigan's season. That includes four home contests in which Michigan is the prohibitive favorite — East Carolina, UNLV, Bowling Green and Rutgers.

Yates, a former quarterback and wide receiver who played at Northwestern from 2015 to 2017, became the first plaintiff to identify himself in a lawsuit against the school.

Three unnamed former players last week filed complaints with a different set of attorneys, which name former football coach Pat Fitzgerald, current university president Michael Schill and others as individual defendants (Yates' lawsuit only names the university). Noted civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who is working with Yates, said at a news conference Monday that he expects to file more than 30 lawsuits from former Northwestern athletes (football and other sports) in the coming weeks and months.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder was a true freshman at Northwestern and arrived on their campus earlier on in the summer. Due to Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald being recently fired, Cryer and any other Northwestern football player are permitted to enter the Transfer Portal and will be granted immediate eligbility at their next stop according to NCAA rules. Cryer was the second Wildcat to enter the portal following Fitzgerald's firing.
