“If all the tied teams are not common opponents, the tied team that defeated each of the other tied teams earns the Championship berth.”

As George Stoia of On3’s Sooner Scoop pointed out, the original tiebreaker rules did not have that sentence in there. The language has been added to Step 1.

The court injunction news we were all waiting for, lol.

Key points from the article:

A Washington county judge ruled in their [OSU & Wazzou] favor, granting a preliminary injunction that gives the two schools control of Pac-12 governance and assets — an estimated $400 million this year.

Depending on a timeline for the appeals process, the case could continue for months without a resolution.

“We aren't saying that they [the other 10 schools] automatically lose their money,” said Eric MacMichael, an attorney for Oregon State and Washington State.

After exiting the Week 10 loss to Alabama with concussion symptoms, LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels was considered questionable heading into Saturday's home game against Florida. But there was nothing questionable about his performance in a 52-35 win over the Gators. Daniels became the first player in FBS history to throw for at least 350 yards and rush for at least 200 yards in the same game.

Not this year, this decade or this century. Ever.

Daniels' 606 yards of total offense included 372 yards passing and 234 yards rushing -- 85 of which came on the longest run by an LSU quarterback in program history in the second quarter. He scored five touchdowns in all.

Mississippi State relieved head football coach Zach Arnett of his duties Monday morning. Arnett compiled a 4-6 record (1-6 SEC) in the 2023 season through 10 games in his first year as full-time coach. Senior offensive analyst Greg Knox will serve as Mississippi State interim coach through the final two games of the season, according to ESPN.

Arnett was elevated from defensive coordinator to interim coach in 2022 following the untimely death of the legendary Mike Leach. After leading the team to an emotional victory in the ReliaQuest Bowl, the administration decided to promote Arnett to full-time coach during the offseason in lieu of conducting a national search for Leach's replacement.

The move to fire Arnett comes on the heels of a 51-10 loss for Mississippi State to Texas A&M in Week 11. Ironically, Arnett is not the first coach to be fired amid the fallout from that game. On Sunday, Texas A&M made the move to fire Jimbo Fisher despite the convincing win for the Aggies.

I know an available coach that likes maroon & white and dog mascots..

Seems like Hoke saw the writing on the wall.

His quote:

"I am proud of what we accomplished at San Diego State," Hoke said. "I am grateful to all the great student-athletes I've had the chance to work with, molding them into men, husbands, fathers and pillars in the community. I will always cherish my time leading this program. I'd also like to thank the wonderful staff I've worked with and wish them the best in the future."

The AD:

"I am very appreciative for the work Brady Hoke has done with our football program at San Diego State both on and off the field," said San Diego State athletic director John David Wicker. "Brady set the standard in 2009 when he first arrived on The Mesa that we now hold ourselves too. However, it's more than wins and losses. Brady created a culture, led our program thru COVID, played two entire seasons in Carson, including a 12-win campaign, and takes seriously the development of young men off the field as well as on. I wish Kelly, Laura and Brady a happy retirement!"

Jimbo wasn't the only HC to be fired the day after a blowout victory.

Defensive coordinator Spencer Danielson will serve as the team's interim coach.

"I am grateful for the passion, effort and dedication Andy has given to our community and his alma mater while serving as our head coach," said Boise State athletic director Jeramiah Dickey. "Andy will always be a Bronco and we wish him and his family all the best in their next steps."

PSU head coach James Franklin announced Sunday that he fired offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich, who was in his third season in the role. The move comes a day after PSU lost 24-15 at home to Michigan and put up just 238 yards of offense, 75 of which came in a final-minute scoring drive when the outcome was already decided.

With Yurcich out of the picture, running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider and tight ends coach Ty Howle will share interim offensive coordinator duties for the remainder of the season.

“We thank Mike for his contributions over the last three years but feel it is in our program’s best interest to make a change at this time. We wish him and his family nothing but the best in the future,” Franklin said.

EDIT: Baffling journalism professors everywhere, the headline asked a question that could be answered "Yes." Aggies pulled the trigger.

Just happy that at least one fanbase believes they have it worse than mine. I do have to wonder if the 51 points yesterday changes anything, or if that was an undercover "interim bump".
