I just remembered a strange behavior I had with my Fairphoen 3 with LineageOS and I wanted to share it and maybe find an explanation.

A while back I was in France for holidays and my phone started to act wired. At first nothing was out of the ordinary, but when I arrived at my destination my phone started to turn off or rebooted in random intervals. It seemed to have no pattern, sometimes I could use my phone normally for a few hours before it shut down or rebooted. Other times I had it shut down almost all 30 minutes or so. The moment I was back in the middle of France everything was back to normal, no shutdowns or reboots.

My friends with normal phones (IPhone or Google-Andorid) had no problems.

Sadly I had the logs not turned on back then, so I can not see what the system did... I thought of a few possible reasons for such an behavior:

• Phone and/or Lineage was not compatible with the local telecom infrastructure
• Some App made system errors
• Other OS errors
• Jamming/Government action

Even though I assume something trivial, like compatibility or software related, I find it worth mentioning that I was near Brest. Brest is a french navy port for destroyers and nuclear submarines. I also saw some heavy guarded bases and bunkers where I assume nuclear bombs are stored, to load them onto the submarines. The military presence in and around Brest was quite high. This brought the question to my mind, could it be that out of caution, the military jams or attacks non-Gogole phones that are not easy to track or just fall out of the ordinary? It is a far stretch I know, but it was just strange to have those problems starting the moment I traversed into a high military presence area and resolve themselves when I was out of that area.

I'm just wondering what the title asks: do you organize your groceries in the order you will check them out, if doing self-checkout, or arrange them on the belt/counter in a standard checkout line, in the hope that they'll be bagged in a specific way?

I didn't know there was any other way people do it, but just learned some people prefer to checkout/bag without pre-arranging things. I'm kind of curious to see what's more common, or if there's some other options I haven't considered?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad I don’t have to go to work for a few days. But I don’t quite get the same excitement for the weekend that I used to. I hope that you do! If so, how do you cultivate that feeling?

.7z seems to be good and I do recommend it to people, saying that it's better than regular zip. Have recently started using opus n webm files more.

I've also heard about jxl recently. Would be very nice to see it become popular, as it could reduce the size of my memes n screenshots folders. Faster webpage loading too.

Are there any other file formats that'll be useful to people, but isn't getting enough attention?

In the case of apps, Trebleshot seems to be good for android file sharing. I like it's web sharing option having an upload form. Helps me where I don't have to ask others to install an app to send me a file locally. Not sure about its encryption n security aspects, but I only have used it for local file sharing.

And what about other stuff similar to that, other than file formats or apps?

Recently have started exercising my neck. Not neck bridges and loaded things tho. Only safe n simple movements. Seems to be good, especially after using a monitor for some time. I think it's not much talked about, maybe because of the fear that people will overdo it?

I’m a couple months (officially) into running a videography business and would love to use this post to share and help each other.

My Advice: I was into videography and doing it as a side hustle for almost a year but kept delaying registering myself as a business. If I could go back, I’d do that sooner.

Been using Marcin's beautifully created bookmark manager since yahoo killed delicious. It was yahoo that bought it right? I digress. Anyway, I've been paying for his service since he mentioned it would be helpful if the old users also contributed BUT the site's downtime has been rough and unpredictable lately. It's just worrying mostly because Marcin doesn't seem to be minding the incoming questions. Emails go ignored. He doesn't seem to upkeep his pinboard focused google group either. He is active on twitter but one needs a twitter account to see twitter anymore so that's not helpful for non twitter account holders. I'm just generally concerned. Any pinboard users here? It's probably time to start running my own bookmark system isn't it? Your thoughts on the stability of pinboard?

Without giving details, My job involves adding a new function to an existing system, and we decided to find an off the shelf product rather than "make it by ourself".

This means that at the moment, I left the company basement, removed my lab coat and safety glasses and wear a nice shirt to go on the floor with nice windows (and weird hyper social persons) to talk with our purchasing department and meet suppliers.

I somehow feel bad to keep talking with B and C while knowing that they're proposal/pricing isn't as good as the one from A but that until purchasing closed the deal with A we cannot just tell them no. So how frustrating is it for you sales persons

At least when I break stuff in the lab it doesn't make humans unhappy
