Not just speaking technically but economically. As user number mount up their post is just going to add up. I know instaces may distribute user, but server space isn't going to go down for anyone. It just seems like built to fall.

Hi everybody, my girlfriend showed me a Tiktok about manga authors adding unnecessary incest plotlines to their works and I thought immediately "They are from Monterrey" (we are from Mexico).

I remembered that the States have a similar joke about Alabama and I started wondering if other countries also have a state or city associated with people who are, for some unknown reason, attrated to their cousins.

Here in Mexico there even is a kind of saying for these people «A la prima se le arrima».

I was a huge pixies fan and after a few years somehow stumbled upon a live video and was. shocked. joy gone, could not listen to the band anymore. in my mind they where so immensely cool, young and obviously hyper attractive. but seeing those old bald men kinda ruined the music.

also, where is my mind is really pointless, what is it even about? but I only care about it since I know how they look. that's bad huh.

Nothing from fanaticus.social seems to load. Newyorkmets@fanaticus.social says pending but it's been months and nothing else there works for me either. Baseball, NBA... nothing shows up.

I'll preface this by saying that English is not my mother language and I'm sorry if this isn't the right community, but I didn't find a more appropriate one.

Last year I started to notice more and more people on YouTube for example using the verb "to put" without a preposition -- like "Now I put the cheese" -- which sounds very weird and kind of feels wrong to me. Is this really used in spoken English and is it grammatically correct?

SIAMES - Young and Restless(pop/rock)

SIAMES - As You Get High(pop/rock)

Gloryhammer - Universe on fire(metal)

Cassette Beasts - Arrow of time(VG/pop/rock)(pretty much the entire album rocks)

Metal Hellsinger - No Tomorrow(VG/metal)

Ps:Please, avoid post actual youtube link, last thread was filled with piped links

Exactly what it says on the (dramatic) title.

We always hear about Biblically accurate angels: the burning wheels with tons of eyes, the strange looking creatures that sound like they come from the anime "Evangelion", the cherubim with 4 faces, but I had a thought while watching The Exorcist: Believer (it was....not good for anyone wondering. At all. The disrespect Regan's mom had towards Merrin and Karras after they died saving her daughter was baffling to listen to, especially...but i digress) a couple of days ago, specifically, if that's how the demonically possessed are said to more or less act in the Judeo-Christian scriptures, or if they're they completely different to what we see in movies and games. I'm guessing it's more than likely the second one, right, but I'm curious about the details like the signs someone's possessed, the demon's endgoal, and what they look like, basically everything you can gimme to sate this curiosity or to send me on a rabbit hole, if you'd be so kind?

I'm trying to access the modlog for https://lemmy.ml/c/worldnews but it either loads forever or returns a "Server error."

It works when I don't access it through my instance: https://lemm.ee/c/worldnews@lemmy.ml

Does anyone else have this problem? Is it intentional?

This question was inspired by my hatred of Temporal Anti-Aliasing which, in many games nowadays, is poorly used as a performance bandaid. On lower resolutions it will smudge and blur the image and certain bad cases of TAA will cause visible ghosting.

Yet in spite of all this, certain games won't let you turn it off or have hair/fur/foliage look like dogshit without it so sometimes I still use it.

Why are so many mobile browsers at least 100, if not 200 megabytes in size? Even Firefox Focus which is supposed to be small and, you know, focussed is 85MB big.

The smallest browser I could find was the /e/ Foundation's built-in browser for /e/OS. It's 12MB.

It's kind of between Firefox and Focus in terms of features so why are all other browsers so big? Is there a small version of Firefox for Android?

Edit: I just looked up the /e/ Browser repo on their GitLab and the browser appears to be bigger than the 12MB displayed in App Info. It's about 70MB, so pretty comparable to the other browsers. I was so confused by the size difference but that's cleared up now.

I would love the child of a Surfacebook with a Framework laptop; or A bare keyboard attached to a screen, that I could plug my phone (possibly running Phosh) and use it as a hardware for a laptop experience

Hypothetically, if a colleague has repeatedly demonstrated the utter lack of reading comprehension skills (like pulling the same door labelled "push" for the hundredth time), what job could one suggest for them where this "disability" wouldn't be detrimental?
