I feel a lot of stuff has not had nearly enough coverage considering. Like the no kings day was huge and it only got mention day of and it blows me away they actually mentioned upcoming ones even if it is same day. Granted I would think the fediverse would be like the core area for planning with this stuff but based on what gets updated its kinda an after thought. At least from what I can see. Im regularly doing searches to see if there is any activity and its pretty sparse. Granted though there is a lot of individual things going on in many locals and many places to possibly post. Although its not like its not bot freindly for multiposting. Its like so many communities were made but whoever made them sorta put up the mission accomplished banners after creation.

I put together a quick flyer for us to print out for tomorrow's Good Trouble Again protest. (Find events near you on the map at their website!)

It was made in Krita (Scribus probably would've been better, but I didn't have time to learn it), using graphics from old IWW pamphlets.

It recommends:

• Collective action and Unionizing with the IWW
• What a General Strike is
• Building community with a link to the Food Not Bombs website (probably the weakest section)
• A section on Solarpunk with text from the manifesto, along with a link to slrpnk.net!
• Ends with imploring readers to talk to the people around them at the protest and form connections.

The flyer is 2 pages designed to fit on a standard US Letter in landscape orientation to enable 2 flyers per page, and intended to be printed double-sided in long-edge mode.

You can create a PDF of the 2 pages for easier printing in Libreoffice Draw (go to Page > Page Properties > Enable Landscape Orientation, and reduce margins to 0.25")

If you have a printer, bring some union pamphlets to hand out and tell people about the General Strike. Spread the word if you can, share this image, and let's stand up together in solidarity and make some Good Trouble!

Some key steps I take from this: identify decision makers / funders, coordinate organizations to campaign, and perform sustained protests and civil disobedience. Working to close concentration camps seems potentially more feasible than fighting armed goons. ICE conveniently provides a list of their locations so you can see what's in your state.

This July 4th cannot be a celebration of Trump’s Fascist America. It must be a day to join our voices to demand TRUMP MUST GO NOW, in front of the White House and throughout the streets of this country – in a collective shout heard around the world.

We stand on a precipice – the Trump fascist regime has rejected the rule of law and deployed the US military and massive Gestapo-like force against the people. And in bombing Iran, in violation of US and international law, Trump has begun a war that threatens the future. We either build serious mass nonviolent struggle now or face being set back.

We pledge that we will build on the strength of millions who took to the streets on June 14 against Trump’s military parade, and advance toward a day of “Making Good Trouble” on July 17 – and beyond that to forge a fierce, unrelenting, nonviolent struggle that makes it impossible for Trump to govern the country, impose his fascist program, or hold onto power.

This is how hated tyrants have been driven out all over the world and it is what we must do here – not allowing our power to be diverted into elections in 2026 or 2028 that will be too late to stop the consolidation of fascist rule. Trump has shown, with threats and action, that he will not accept any restraints on his power to lock in a terrible future – with the largest military and nuclear arsenal at his fingertips.

Our taxes are funding domestic terrorism in our communities.

And the “Big Beautiful Bill” makes it worse, expanding ICE with:
- $45 billion for detention funding (4x annual increase; 50% larger than the entire federal prison system).
- $27 billion for ICE agents and operations (3x current funding).

It would be too bad if this backfired and the prison had a bunch of protesters show up now that we know where people are being taken to. Truly terrible...

US federal tax code allows one to deduct any foreign taxes paid.

So, any country in the world could offer US citizens the option to claim their income as taxable in that country’s jurisdictions and provide them paperwork needed by US tax authorities.

Thus instead of funding the Trump government, the money would go to governments who have policies that you support (say Ukraine for example) and you would still be completely complying with US tax laws but also significantly reducing the amount of money that you give to the federal government.

Just a quick photo we took of the protest. Lots of support from local cars too, even when waiting in heavy traffic due to the protest! Only saw about 3 red hats. The Governor* declared a state of emergency for a completely peaceful protest. Lots of good citizens providing free water and picking up trash when the nearby trash cans had overflown. With my limited ability to count people in a large area I would guess 3k - 5k people. Also a picture of my protest sign which was a big hit!
