Absolutely loving Vale Totems, and hearing TravagGames talk about it made it click why I like it so much. Unlike minigames such as Wintertodt that cost you no resources and are in a little box sequestered away from the rest of the game, Vale Totems feels like the skilling content we all remember from back in the day. It actually asks the player to use their own resources and takes place in the game world where other players are doing things, and if you want to stand up and go do something else for a minute, there's no round end you have to wait for. It's at your pace, not the game's pace.

You can sweat really hard making redwood shields and teleporting out with a pendant halfway through, or you can just do forestry in the area and afk near 1-2 totems. It's genuinely perfect. I really hope that future updates and expansions to skills have a heavier focus on this kind of skilling activity rather than minigame bosses. Jagex killed it with this update overall, but this has been a highlight for me.

EDIT: Hunter's Rumours were also a banger for similar reasons, it asks you to engage with the skill in the overworld

Currently there is 1 player far above all others where it comes to number of Barrow chests completed. At 34924 barrows chest clears he is at #1 by a large margin. Sadly, however, this number hasn't changed in over a year. This is because in early 2024 he passed away due to suffering an epileptic attack in his sleep. It was something he had been fighting for a long time.

I am making this post because clearly his love for the game was one that was not matched by many. I want to partially immortalise him, remember him, and maybe even get a glimpse of what he was like in game.

So my question to you all, if you remember seeing him, interacting with him, or even knew him in game, let me know. Everyone who loved him would love to get a glimpse of this.

He went by the username "v w l" as far as we can tell, though there have been many. His usernames have included "f ck barrows", "lovesbarrows", "BarrowBunny", "GutterBunny", "Bawwows", "f ck me raw", and even "RuinMyHole". I'm sure he thought all of these were hilarious (and I'd like to agree with him).

Please note I've omitted his actual name on purpose, as I'm not sure how anonymous he would have liked to have been.

Buddy, I'll miss you, and I hope you will forever be part of these highscores. You deserve the #1 spot.
