Peace campaigner Angie Zelter arrested at RAF Lakenheath

14 peace campaigners were arrested during a 6 hour blockade of the main gates at RAF Lakenheath on 7 April. RAF Lakenheath is used exclusively by the United States Air Force and is sending fighter jets to the Iran war.

The peace protesters used heavy-duty locks to attach themselves to a car, a large multi-coloured peace symbol and each other. They completely blocked the main gates of RAF Lakenheath from 6am. Peace campaigners also shut down a second gate into RAF Lakenheath for 4 hours from 6am to 10am.

This non-violent direct action follows a week-long International Peace Camp at the base that ended yesterday, Monday 6 April. Although the RAF is the official owner, the US Air Force has exclusive use of the airbase. And it’s using it to send fighter jets to the war in Iran.

RAF bases Lakenheath and nearby Mildenhall have also supported Israel’s genocide in Gaza and nuclear bombs returned to Lakenheath last summer. Marie Walsh, a retired teacher from Didcot said:

We are here to interrupt business as usual, and to say in the name of humanity ‘STOP’.

One of the lock-on protesters, Rajan Naidu from Birmingham said:

Though being on British sovereign territory, this base is used by the US to pursue an illegal war of aggression, raining death and misery on the people of Iran. The base is also being used to aid and abet Israeli war crimes and genocide against the Palestinian people. Britain, by allowing these crimes against humanity is complicit in them, and therefore culpable for them.

RAF Lakenheath and Trump’s war on Iran

Well over 100 fighter jets and bombers have deployed from RAF Lakenheath for the attack on Iran. RAF Mildenhall has also had active involvement in the illegal war of aggression by providing refuelling for bombers deploying to West Asia.

Lakenheath Alliance For Peace has kept a list of warplanes deploying from Lakenheath and other airbases.

The Military Aviation YouTube channel filmed and published three Israeli F-35I arriving at RAF Mildenhall on 16 February and then departing for Israel on 18 February. The Israeli media had reported the delivery of the new aircraft on 20 January. Israel has used the F-35I in attacks against Gaza, Yemen and Iran.

LAP believes US nuclear B61-12 bombs have already arrived at RAF Lakenheath.

Nukewatch UK collected evidence of US B61-12 nuclear bombs coming to Lakenheath. Nukewatch is a network of volunteers that monitors and tracks movements of weapons of mass destruction in order to break the secrecy and inform the public about nuclear weapons in the UK.

I heard that the reason why music identifiers don't work offline is because their databases are huge, with millions of songs (including video game music). Databases containing only video game music may be significantly smaller, even if they contain the soundtracks of over 1000 games.

Snapper are central to coastal life across southern Australia, supporting fisheries, local businesses, and regional tourism. New Flinders University research has found that although snapper populations across southern Australia are highly connected, they are not fully interchangeable. The study shows that local environmental conditions help maintain important population adaptations, a finding with implications for stock recovery, fisheries management and resilience under climate change.

I thought I'd do something ~~low effort~~ fun this time around with an article, but I've got a fair amount of trepidation sharing it. When it comes to something like this (what I recommend you play/watch if you're specifically waiting for Forza Horizon 6 set in Japan), I think I might have some people sad that I didn't recommend a few other titles.

In the end this is just a mix of games I love, like Need For Speed Underground 2, Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Remix, F&F Tokyo Drift and so on.

I'm so excited for Horizon 6. I get the impression it'll be like the previous few: I go into it hyped and then after a month I realize it has the same format as all the others. But the idea of drifting without a care is keeping me happy for the release.

SO, if you wanna see my recommendations for what to check out before FH6 comes out, check my article out:

So, I realized that I have Jedi Bob in my collection and I decided to rebuild my Republic Gunship!

It took me about a week or so to dig all the Lego pieces out. I found all of them except for a few dark red pieces and 4 of the hinges that control the sides.

I had so much fun putting this back together and honestly, wondered why I took it apart in the first place!!

I'm not sure when or where this occurred, but at some point I just became less inclined to speak up on social media. I still do, of course, but now there's this little...cringe....inside of me whenever I do. The sarcasm, the gaslighting, the armchair 'experts' who seemingly exist just to punch holes in whatever opinion I have - this mean-spiritedness has made me far, far less likely to engage in most conversations online. And, I've watch this translate over into my offline life, as well. It seems like my world has become a gigantic minefield where every step could potentially blow up in my face from someone who somehow got offended by something I said, or someone who has made it their life's mission to correct every opinion I have. I just....stopped engaging, for the most part.

What's even worse is that I've found myself exhibiting the exact same sort of behavior from time to time. It's like social media is trying to train me to be argumentative and rude. Everyone tells me that it's 'just the way it is', but I can't help feeling like we can do better....or at least wishing that we could.

Palantir

A petition started by Zack Polanski to kick Palantir out of UK public services has nearly 160,000 signatures.

At nearly 160,000 signatures – my petition to stop Palantir.https://t.co/oqsZdtN3pZ

— Zack Polanski (@ZackPolanski) April 6, 2026

Palantir is a secretive US tech firm. It’s embedding itself in UK public services, including running a huge patient database for the NHS.

Essentially, the company helps government spy agencies collect huge amounts of private data about citizens – including ICE in the US and the Israeli military.

But it also provides terrifying AI-powered military tools to the Israeli government, which it uses to carry out its Genocide in Gaza, along with its recent attacks in Iran and Lebanon.

Peter Thiel co-founded the company. Unsurprisingly, he is a billionaire Trump donor and close friend of Jeffrey Epstein.

However, the UK CEO is Louis Mosley, grandson of British fascist, Oswald Mosley.

Palantir infiltrating Britain

The company has slowly made its way into British infrastructure. During the pandemic, the government suspiciously handed Palantir a huge contract – supposedly worth only £1. This was to create a COVID-19 data store that would provide ministers with real-time information on health services and the pandemic.

Now, it has contracts worth over £500m with the UK government alone. This includes software which NHS doctors and nurses are flat-out refusing to use because of ‘privacy’ and ‘human rights concerns.

🚨 We must kick this dangerous company OUT of our national infrastructure. pic.twitter.com/KKmgR0WFKe

— Canary (@TheCanaryUK) April 5, 2026

Palantir also has a £240m deal with the UK military. Again, there was no competitive tender process, and the government just handed Palantir the deal.

Stopping “Palantir” is the most vital campaign there is for the UK at the moment. Please support it. https://t.co/tMAuhEn3Tl

— Leo (@hanwayplace) April 6, 2026

The Petition to kick Palantir out of UK public services, started by Zack Polanski, has close to 160,000 signatures. It emphasises:

But right now we’ve got a major chance to get their NHS deal scrapped – and kick start a domino effect that sees ALL their contracts ended.

How? Ministers actually have the option to cancel the NHS deal early. But with these contracts flying under the radar, it’ll take all of us speaking up to make that happen. If you agree that our NHS and other public services shouldn’t be cutting deals with a private company that helps armies kill people, sign the petition now!

Continued from Part 1

From Raven Ridge Wildlife Center

05 April

Happy Easter and we have a truly remarkable story to share today.

Sometimes, circumstances unfold for a reason, and what initially seems heartbreaking can lead to something positive. Our first baby of 2026 arrived weak and underweight after being discovered at the bottom of a cold cement stairway in downtown Columbia. This Great Horned Owl was alone in an area lacking trees or safe spots for a young owl too small to be out of the nest, without a parent to protect or feed it.

Just two days before, we had received an adult female Great Horned Owl rescued from an electrical fence. She showed clear signs of nesting behavior but was unable to fly or even stand. We always strive to do what is right for our patients, ensuring their surroundings and rehabilitation environments closely resemble their natural habitats.

Hatchling and nestling owls tend to imprint easily, so placing them with a foster adult or others of their age and size is crucial. Knowing the female Great Horned Owl was still in nesting mode and the baby owl had lost its mother, our team decided to take a chance and pair the two. This was a risk we were willing to take to allow her to continue her mothering role, ensuring the baby owl would not imprint on humans and could learn from its own species. It turned out to be a win-win for both.

The relationship has developed beautifully, and we couldn't have asked for a better outcome for either owl. The adult female has taken on the role of caregiver, demonstrating strong protective instincts. We plan to release both the adult female and the baby owl together in the general area where she was rescued. Having the baby owl released with her will provide the necessary support from an adult that raised it, in case of any need for assistance.

One of the greatest rewards our team experiences is ensuring that our patients receive top-quality care and natural comfort during their rehabilitation.
